Trentham Early Learning Expands

Looking forward to a bigger and brighter facility. Photo supplied.

The Minister for Early Childhood, Ingrid Stitt, along with Mary-Anne Thomas MP, visited Trentham Early Learning recently to tour the exciting building works for the newly expanded facility.

The extension to the existing kinder will accommodate 22 new places, a significant increase for the local community. The facility provides for both 3 and 4 year-old kindergarten, as well as for childcare with Council working with our provider ECKA on staffing and child numbers with planned opening for Term 1, 2021.

The works include a new teaching room, upgraded toilet and kitchen facilities, new front and rear deck, and accessibility improvements. The project cost is $660,000, with $305,000 funding from the Victorian Government. Council’s contribution to this important project was $355,000. The building works are finalised, and with some minor tree removals for bushfire protection to be undertaken shortly, the project will be complete.

There will be employment opportunities at the centre through ECKA, who operate the service.
