Click and Collect and the Book Tailor are back at all City of Ballarat Libraries.

While Council libraries remain closed, people are once again able to collect items put on hold or they can request items through The Book Tailor service.

Library staff will choose a surprise selection of books DVDs, magazines or talking books based on their preferences.

The Book Tailor form is available online through the library website or via phone. Patrons are invited to use The Book Tailor as often as they like.

Collection of items is available Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm. Items also can be collected on Saturdays from 9.30am to 12 noon at Ballarat, Sebastopol and Wendouree Libraries.

Click and Collect allows library patrons to access library items in accordance with physical distancing protocols. It’s a completely contactless transaction!

Ballarat Mayor, Cr Ben Taylor, says the City of Ballarat has carried out a thorough risk assessment and has ensured all precautions are in place for staff and patrons to enable the safe return of the Click and Collect service.

This includes a strict 72-hour quarantine period for all library items issued through Click and Collect.

“This is such an important service for all our residents, but particularly those who are feeling isolated and rely on books and other resources for their learning and enjoyment,” he said.

To access the Book Tailor service, people should complete the online form (https://bit.ly/34sDqsA). They will be notified when their library items are ready to collect through the Click and Collect service.

For questions, and library membership, go to the City of Ballarat Libraries website or call the Ballarat Library on 5338 6850.
