Pyrenees Shire Council Community Grants Open

Council is seeking applications for the Community and Capital Grants program.

Applications are welcome from eligible incorporated community and not-for-profit groups based within the Pyrenees Shire or from groups which provide services or activities for people living in the Pyrenees Shire.

Council’s Community Grants Program provides vital funding for a wide range of projects, events and activities which promote community activity, achievement, participation and health and wellbeing and compromises of the following two grant schemes: Community Grants Community Grants provide up to $750 for events and $1,500 for community focused equipment, projects and programs.

Community Capital Grants The Community Development Grant provides grants between $1,500 and $5,000 for community groups to undertake capital works projects benefitting community facilities located within the Pyrenees Shire.

“Council is aware groups might have had a project in mind for this grant round, and we would hate for them to miss out on the opportunity to apply because of COVID-19,” Mayor Tanya Kehoe said.

“We understand we are in a different operating environment, but we would still like to hear from groups if they are in need of funding.”

Applications must include all associated costs and provide quotes from prospective suppliers.

Community Groups are asked to speak to the Community Wellbeing and Grants Co-ordinator Carmel Pethick.

Applications and Guidelines are available on Council’s website (www.pyrenees.vic.gov.au/community/grants) and hard copies can be mailed out upon request.

For further information please contact Carmel Pethick, Council’s Community Wellbeing and Grants Coordinator on 1300 797 363.

Applications close 5.00pm Monday 18 May.
