At the busy roundabout at the intersection of Macarthur and Drummond Streets, Ballarat, is a well-known automotive business, Spanners and Sparks Automotive.
Under the capable guidance of owner/manager, Philip Kolarik, the business has grown significantly since he took over in 2015.
Having completed his apprenticeship at Spanners and Sparks, Phil is now returning the favour and has already seen one apprentice become fully qualified and the second is well on his way.
Philip is proud of his team, which comprises two service advisors (Josh and Kaile), two qualified technicians (Daniel and Warren) and an apprentice (Jesse).
Staff are given every opportunity to upskill and hone their craft and that has included Warren taking part in the National WorldSkills, a few years ago and Jesse with take part in 2021, as this year’s competition was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Phil and his team offer a specialised customer service experience while looking after your pride and joy.
“We do all logbook servicing, Roadworthy inspections, maintenance, repairs – from tune-ups, brakes, right through to engines,” Phil said.
“Generally no job is too big or too small.
“We can even service your new or late model car, ute, or four wheel drive while still maintaining your new vehicle manufacturer’s warranty.”
With a central location, knowledgeable and friendly staff who will go that extra mile for you, Spanners and Sparks Automotive is one small business that you should support.
With lockdown in place it has been (more or less) business as usual in the workshop but with staff and customers’ health a priority.
“We have been disinfecting before and after, on each car, and before they leave, cars get wiped down and steamed,” Phil said.
Spanners and Sparks Automotive is located at 327 Creswick Road Ballarat (opposite old cemetery).
They are open Monday to Friday and can be reached on 5331 7755.
