Ballarat’s ‘loud fence’ getting louder

While Cardinal George Pell has been exonerated by the High Court of historic sexual assault, support is still there for victims.

Only those who were directly involved in the above case, know the truth, but it is heartening that support is strong for anybody who has been affected by abuse.

Initial support for sexual abuse victims came through tying colourful ribbons onto fences of religious institutions.

This was an initiative of the Loud Fence movement, which has its roots in Ballarat, during the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

It is now a worldwide movement.
