Hepburn Shire Council Seeks Public Art Advisory Committee

Nominations are now open for the Public Art Advisory Committee.

The Public Art Advisory Committee plays an important role in making recommendations to Council about the development and direction of public art in the Shire.  Selection will be based on relevant expertise as described in the selection criteria; geographical representation across the Shire; and diversity of culture, gender and age.

At last nights meeting, Council resolved to rename the committee from its previous name of Public Art Panel to the Public Art Advisory Committee.

Mayor Cr Don Henderson said the new name better reflects the function of the committee to provide advice to Council on public art installations and projects within the Shire.

“Council has also decided to appoint a Councillor to the position of Chair, which is consistent with other community committees, providing a direct conduit from the committee back to Council,” said Cr Henderson.

Nominations close on 13 September 2019.  Visit www.hepburn.vic.gov.au (News section) for more information and copies of the Terms of Reference and Nomination Form.
