Miners Rest community update on the Dowling Forest Equine Precinct Planning Controls Master Plan

Dowling Forest and Miners Rest residents and landholders are invited to a community meeting later this month to discuss the Dowling Forest Equine Precinct Planning Controls Master Plan.

In response to concerns raised by some landholders, the City of Ballarat began work earlier this year to understand any issues within the Dowling Forest Precinct, including a review of the property market and investigations into planning controls.

This research identified several key concerns which may be able to be addressed by some changes to the Planning Scheme.

Following community workshop sessions held across March and May, the Dowling Forest Precinct Planning Controls Review 2019 report has now been prepared and is available for public comment.

You can read this report online at: mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au/dowling-forest-precinct-review

The purpose of the report is to identify and understand the issues associated with the current town planning controls, and to explore possible planning scheme solutions.

A community meeting will be held at the Miners Rest Community Hall on 29 July 2019 between 3pm–6pm where community members will have the chance to ask questions and provide feedback to Council Officers.

You can also make a written submission by:
