AFL Goldfields is pleased to release its Female Football Fixture for the Open Women, Youth Under 18, Under 15 and Junior Girls competition for the 2019 season.
AFL Goldfields are delighted to have six grades of football this year; Open Women; Ballarat and Riddell Youth U18, U15 and U13 Junior Girls
Divisional structure for Youth and Junior Girls is based on geographical location; and minimising travel for players and parents. The two divisions consist of teams in the Ballarat Football Netball League and the Riddell District Football Netball League.
All age groups commence their seasons on Sunday, April 28.
AFL Goldfields Female Football Manager Krista Woodroffe has praised the support and growth in the game from the Goldfields community.
“With so many new and existing teams being represented this year we are really pleased with how clubs have continued to grow participation in our region.” Woodroffe said.
“It is a credit to all of the volunteers who put in the time and effort to really drive the game. We still have a long way to go in ensuring the sustainability of female football within our regions but as it stands the competition is looking strong.”
AFL Goldfields will again host a gala “Grand Final Day” on Sunday, September 8 where all Junior Girls, Youth Girls and Open Age Women’s Grand Finals will take place on the same day, at a premier venue in Ballarat.
“Last year’s Grand Final day was really successful, the quality of football displayed from all grades was impressive and then finishing off the day with our Women’s Night game was a highlight of the year” Woodroffe said.
The All Girls Auskickers played at half time and had the opportunity to present the Women’s Premiers Redan with their medallions at the end of the game which was a great way to end another successful year of AFL Goldfields Female football.
