At its meeting last week, Hepburn Shire Council confirmed the appointment of Grind Projects from Woodend as the successful contractor to deliver the redevelopment of the Daylesford Skate Park.
Grind Projects will commence works in July, with completion due at the end of November 2019.
Mayor, Cr Don Henderson, said he was pleased that this much-loved community asset would be improved as space for young people to enjoy.
A grant of $240,000 was announced in October 2018 by Mary-Ann Thomas MP, Member for Macedon. Council will contribute $143,000 to the project.
“The grant from the Andrews Labor Government for this project will help us deliver new skate features and basketball area. We need to acknowledge the hard work of community members and the Friends of the Daylesford Community Park in helping to get support for this project,” said Cr Henderson.
There will be some minor inconvenience to the public during the works, with a section of the park closed. The playground area will remain open for the duration of the works.
