Saturday was the start of the final round in the home and away in the BCA. Top of the ladder, Mt Clear, was at home against Buninyong. With some work being completed at the Mt Clear ground, the game was played on the main oval at St Patrick’s Secondary College.
It was a warm day at St Pat’s, opposing skipper, Liam Rigby won the toss and had no hesitation to bat, on what looked to be a good wicket. Youngster Wil Ringin opened the batting with Bobby Hind; Wil went earlier, quickly followed by Squire, it was 2 for none!
Buninyong Coach, Liam Brady then joined Bobby Hind. The pair steadily building the innings, before Ash George struck, taking the wicket of Bobby Hind LBW, playing back to a straight one. Bobby scoring 19 from 55 deliveries. Brady was then joined by Naps Sebas skipper, Matt Ringin. The pair adding 29 before Brady also fell LBW to George. Buninyong went on to score a slow and steady 174, all out in the 76th over. Liam Brady the top scorer with 38. Ash George 4 wickets, supported by Mt Clear skipper with 3 for 28 and seasoned veteran, Darren Fletcher, chiming in with another 3 wickets.
