Sunday put on warm sunshine and a large crowd for Ballan’s Great Vintage Rally and Tractor Pull, run by the Ballan District Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Club for more than 15 years.
Club treasurer Ray Meadows said it had been a very successful day with a record crowd flocking to the Ballan racecourse.
“It went terrific,” he said.
“We were very pleased. There were a lot of exhibitors with good displays of a lot of different things.”
Funds raised from the day are ploughed back into building more sheds and restoration of machinery.
“Our motto is to preserve farming history,” Mr Meadows added.
“Currently we are working on a big 16hp engine that we bought – and that’s not restored yet. There is a lot of work on that but we will have it running for next year.”
