While the Australian Open is in full swing, the competition in Ballarat will be no less intense with the Ladies Real Tennis Championship being held from the 20th to the 26th January 2019 at the Ballarat Tennis Club, 388 Larter Street Canadian.
The reigning women’s, Claire Fahey, will be defending her title and is up against some stiff competition.
Last night the City of Ballarat hosted a Civic Reception to welcome players, officials sponsors and volunteers.
Players from Hobart, Melbourne, locally, the UK and USA are competing in Ballarat which is 1 of only a handful of courts in Australia.
Real Tennis is the original racquet sport from which the modern game of lawn tennis is derived.
It is played with a solid ball on an enclosed court divided into equal but dissimilar halves, the service side (from which service is always delivered) and the hazard side (on which service is received).
The LWC 2019 is open to the public subject to seating availability. To ensure your seats and for all other Championship details please contact Head Professional Andrew Fowler, on 0401 856 797 and firstname.lastname@example.org
