The 4th Ballarat Vegan Festival (BVF) was launched last week by Andy Meddick MLC. The event also launched the Ballarat Vegan Festival art exhibition, which featured 15 artists and over 37 works.
Mr Meddick spoke of the need for inclusiveness in bringing more people on board to a more compassionate, cruelty free lifestyle. He said the vegan community comprised people from all walks of life and professions which showed the reach of the vegan philosophy which is to do as little harm to all inhabitants of the earth as possible.
BVF Secretary Bryn Hills said. the highlight of the Festival was the Twilight Vegan Fair which showcased vegan food, wares, clothes and various animal protection agencies.
“Over 1000 people attended the Fair making it the most successful event in the Festival’s history,” Mr Hills said.
“The Festival closed on Sunday with a walk for animals around Lake Wendouree followed by a community picnic.
“The Festival organisers are extremely grateful for the support of the City of Ballarat and all of patrons from Ballarat and beyond.”
